Seresin Estate is a Marlborough wine producer committed to producing premium wine and extra virgin olive oil.
The estate was established in 1992 by Michael Seresin, a film maker based in London, and is managed by Brian Bicknell. By solely utilising fruit from our groves surrounding the winery we believe we can better achieve our goals of individuality, complexity, quality and consistency in our oils. Seresin estate imported olives from a specialist olive nursery in Tuscany owned by the renowned Attilio Sonnoli. We chose a selection of the classic varieties that make Tuscan extra virgin olive oil probably the best in the world. Each year we bring Maurizio Castelli, a Tuscan based wine maker and oil expert to Marlborough. to supervise the harvest and pressing.
Oil Characteristics
Extra virgin olive oil - The oil is characterised by crisp ripe apple flavours on the nose. The excellent autumn ripening conditions encountered in Marlborough, have created a complex flavour profile from fruity through to grassy and herbal on the palate, with a pleasant peppery finish that we aim for. Lemon oil - We created the lemon oil by pressing an amount of organic lisbon and villa franca lemons at the press with the olives. The result is a highly fragrant and intense oil, with good palate weight and a long finish. This oil is ideal used on salads, seafood, in marinades, dressings or drizzled over vegetables. Lime oil - The lime oil was produced for the first time this year, as with the lemon oil, the organic limes are pressed with the olives, the oil was very fragrant and spicy to begin with and has now mellowed into a more subtle tropical tones, this oil has been particularly popular with chefs.
