Construction started at Ugbrooke Country Estate back in 1880 when William Clifford decided to build a magnificant homestead to remind him of the original Ugbrooke, his family seat in Devon, England. Finally finished in 1897 by its new owner, Henry Vavasour, Ugbrooke has since been the heart of the Awatere Valley.
Planning to open in November 2007 as a newly refurbished 9 bedroom boutique heritage hotel Ugbrooke gives you the opportunity to experience a part of Marlborough's living history.
With most of the original joinery preserved and a lot of the original interior decoration restored, stepping onto Ugbrooke Country Estate is very much like stepping into a bygone area.
This combined with the numerous recreational activities on hand such as claybird shooting, tennis, archery, golf, croquet and petanque make Ugbrooke a truly unique and exceptional venue for any occasion.
We cater for indivudal travellers through to conference groups right through to weddings of 160 people.
Call your hosts Alex & Peter Stowasser today to enquire about Ugbrooke and what this magnificent property can offer you.
