Traditionally-made cheese is a concentrated expression of the land and people that produce it. Sherrington cheese has been lovingly created by hand, in a tiny farm dairy, deep in the beautiful Marlborough Sounds. It was made using techniques and recipes long abandoned by modern dairy factories, in the interest of efficiency. Luckily, the original flavour has been preserved for you by generations of women in the Harper family. You can order cheese online, try it at some of Marlborough's best restaurants or join a workshop on cheese-making at the farm.
Another speciality is manuka honey, from the native New Zealand manuka tree. The bees are all kept locally and honey is extracted in the farm's honey house in late summer, for sale all over the world. Manuka honey is prized by many for its anti-bacterial and health-giving properties. It has a full spicy flavour and lingering after-taste.
