Prepare to be wowed by the spectacular scenery of the Marlborough Sounds while you enjoy a leisurely, one-and-a-half to two hour, guided ride on our quiet, kind-natured horses.
With Picton Horse Treks you will meander up through the tranquil Port Marlborough Forestry, while listening to the tui and bellbirds singing in the trees.
Enjoy panoramic views of the beautiful Picton Harbour and stunning Marlborough Sounds as you reach the top plateau and ride along the ridge to the viewing point. You may even see the ferries arriving and departing from the Port. Look down onto Shakespeare Bay Port and beyond to the Sounds as you descend back through the forestry to finish the trek.
Our experienced, friendly guides provide quality service with an emphasis on rider and horse safety. Helmets and wet weather gear are provided.
What should you wear and bring?
Please wear long trousers or trackpants and covered in shoes. Don't forget your sunscreen, camera and a drink bottle. Complimentary light refreshments are provided at the end of each ride.
