Welcome to Explore Marlborough. We are a local tour company specialising in small exclusive tours of the beautiful Marlborough region. We offer full day guided bike tours around the Marlborough wine region, full and half day van tours around the boutique food producers of the area and half day walks for stunning views of scenic Marlborough. All of our tours are hosted by our enthusiastic local guides whose mission is to ensure that you have the best day possible while exploring the best of Marlborough. Along the way they will share their in depth knowledge of the region’s wine and gourmet food as well as the rich history and varied geography of the region.
Personal Bike Tours:
Explore Marlborough is the only fully guided bike tour company in the region offering guided day tours of the wine region by bike. Our bike tours visit a selection of the region’s best wineries and art galleries. We aim to take you off the main roads and along some of the quieter country roads, through private vineyards and along the river stop-banks. We visit a number of Marlborough’s top wineries and look behind the scenes where other tours will not normally go.
The tour is designed to cover about 10km of very easy flat riding. The off road riding through the vineyards and along the stop-banks is across hard packed earth covered with grass or gravel and is easy to bike by all skill levels. The tour price of $250pp includes top quality mountain bikes designed for comfortable touring, lunch at an award-winning winery restaurant and pick up/drop off to accommodation (within 15km of Blenheim centre).

Personal Food Tours:
Discover why Marlborough has been named the “Gourmet Province of New Zealand†with our Explore Marlborough Personal Food Tours. While Marlborough is now world renowned for its wines, the region also produces some stunning produce many of which is not readily available to visitors. Let us introduce you to our local food growers and producers who will delight your taste buds with their products and inspire you with their stories. From locally roasted coffee to kick start your day, to picking and eating luscious seasonal fruit, to devouring decadent dark chocolate, we will delight your senses from start to finish.
We currently offer three tours:
Taste of Marlborough – half day tour - $195pp including lunch and private wine tasting at an award-winning local winery, sample pack of goodies to take away and pick up/drop off to accommodation (within 15km of Blenheim centre). Runs Monday to Saturday 9.30am to 1.30pm.
Heart of Marlborough – full day tour - $275pp including lunch and private wine tasting at an award-winning local winery, sample pack of goodies to take away and pick up/drop off to accommodation (within 15km of Blenheim centre). Runs Monday to Saturday 9.30am to 3.30pm.
Lazy Sunday Food, Wine and Art Tour – half day tour $175pp
Join us and the locals at the quaint and buzzy Marlborough Farmer’s Market. Enjoy a freshly cooked breakfast, locally roasted coffee and the opportunity to talk with local food growers and producers and sample their wares – all while being entertained by local musicians. From there we take you on a tour of our favourite boutique wineries and visit local art galleries.
Per person charge of $175 includes breakfast and light platter lunch at a local winery and pick up/drop off to accommodation (within 15km of Blenheim centre). Runs Sundays 9.00am to 1.30pm from beginning of October until end of May.
We want to keep our tours small and personal so we have a minimum of two guests and a maximum of eight. (We are happy to conduct a tour for just one person for which there will be a surcharge on top of the listed price).
