Ugbrooke Country Estate was built in 1885 when Lord William Clifford decided to build a magnificent homestead to remind him of the original Ugbrooke, his family seat in Devon, England but it was completed by his cousin Henry Vavasour in 1903 and became the home of the Vavasour family for three generations
This huge, elegant, heritage listed property, which overlooks sweeping lawns to vineyards and the sea now has 5 newly refurbished bedrooms and offers you the opportunity to experience a part of Marlborough's living history.
With most of the original joinery preserved, a lot of the original interior decoration restored, 14 feet stud ceilings and huge living areas, stepping onto Ugbrooke Country Estate is very much like stepping into a bygone area.
This combined with chip and put golf in the surrounding paddocks and tennis
( courts to be complete by December 2008) make Ugbrooke a truly unique, private and exceptional place to stay .
Privacy, hospitality and relaxation are the keywords at Ugbrooke and individuals through to small corporate groups are welcomed.
Experience this exceptional property for your self by contacting hosts Peter and Alex Stowasser.
