Why - New Zealand is a world leader in the management of endangered species. On Blumine Island, you experience nature at its awesome and majestic best and the building of this Living Ark of Conservation for New Zealand fauna and flora.
Experience - You can see, hear, smell and touch the magic of this unique ecosystem as your expert guide reveals to you the secrets of the ecosystem. You are introduced to some of the native insects, birds and plants that live on Blumine Island in particular wetas, powelliphanta snails, wetas, bellbirds.
There is the added bonus of the rich and colourful history of the Sounds - Captain Cooks exploration, early Maori, whalers, New Zealands attempts to ward off invaders and our World War 2 defence facilities, and of course the spectacular scenery.
Itinerary - Depart from the Endeavour Wharf on the Picton Foreshore and cruise the Queen Charlotte Sound to Blumine Island Wildlife Sanctuary. 2 hour guided exploration along the formed tracks of Blumine Island.
Departs - 10.30am Returns - 2.30pm
