About Us

Destination Marlborough is the Regional Tourism Organisation for the Marlborough District.

It is one of 30 Regional Tourism Organisations throughout New Zealand recognised by Regional Tourism Organisations NZ.

The role of Destination Marlborough is to market and develop the Marlborough region as a visitor destination, providing a quality experience to visitors, achieving economic and social benefits for suppliers, businesses and the community and ensuring the integrity of the region's environment is maintained.

Destination Marlborough is a charitable trust and, as a CCO (Council Controlled Organisation), is owned and base funded by Marlborough District Council and governed by a Board of Trustees.  The Board employs a Chief Executive to operate Destination Marlborough. The CEO and staff develop an annual business plan to direct destination marketing and destination management activity; public relations, marketing and promotion projects, human resource management, financial management and visitor information services.

Destination Marlborough also operates the Picton and Blenheim i-SITE Visitor Centres which are part of New Zealand’s national i-SITE Visitor Information Network. These centres are our front-line information and reservation centres for the public. Full contact information is listed here
