5 Day Itinerary
Day One – Marlborough Sounds
Take time to explore the Queen Charlotte, Pelorus, and Kenepuru Sounds on a cruise, see marine mammals and birdlife, and soak in the views. Overnight in a lodge and wake to sea views.
Day Two – Marlborough Sounds
Get active – sea kayak around secluded bays cloaked in native bush, be guided into fabulous fishing spots, walk or mountain bike the breathtaking Queen Charlotte or Nydia Tracks, and at night look up through clear air to a sky ablaze with stars.
Day Three – Nature’s Bounty
Take the stunning Queen Charlotte Drive, then head inland to vistas of vineyards, river terraces, golden hills and braided rivers. Explore nature trails, or make a path of your own, sample at gourmet food producers, and enjoy beautiful gardens. Overnight at a boutique B&B or quirky hotel.
Day Four - Wine Region
Indulge in a guided Wine Tour of New Zealand’s foremost wine-growing area. Sample the world famous Sauvignon Blanc and other varietals, and enjoy a gourmet lunch of fresh Marlborough produce.
Day Five – Marlborough Art and Heritage
Have breakfast and great coffee in a café, then hit the art trail. Visit craft workshops, artists in their studios, and discover Marlborough’s modern art scene at excellent galleries. Don’t miss the lifelike displays and international treasures at Omaka Aviation Heritage Centre.
3 Day Itinerary
Follow the five day itinerary, spending just one day in the Marlborough Sounds, and half a day each exploring the inland vistas of Marlborough, taking your pick select art, heritage, and gourmet stops.
